Artsy Fartsy

So I love my new camera. I have said it before and I will say it again, the Nikon D40 just rocks, period! On our way out to Sacramento, I played around with the settings and just took random pics. When your just looking at the sky and the mountains, Wyoming isn't so bad after all. hee hee I was never a person to take scenic pictures. Why? Who cares about a bush or a tree? Always thought it was just kind of silly. Well foot in mouth time has come, I love taking random pics of crap! Ok well not crap, but just stuff!!! The scenery, things, objects, whatever. Love it, love it, love it. Now I just need a house with a million walls to display it all on. So without further adieu, here are some of my random pics from my trip to Sacramento and back. I will also be making another post of our trip to Monterey with a lot of cool pics as well.

The sky was so clear and blue as we headed into Wyoming.

The twins LOVE tunnels now. This is the tunnel by Green River, WY.

Clouds clouds and more clouds.

Gotta love Little America!

My eye! When I zoomed into my eye from the camera setting, I could see the sliding glass door in my grandparents living room and their backyard. What a trip! I LOVE MY CAMERA!

A window in my grandparents home. Took this picture upside down. Almost looks like a funky screen saver.

The piano I grew up with.

California Trip - February 2009

So I feel like it's been forever since I have posted anything, and well I guess that because it has been. We went to Sacramento for 3 weeks in February and just got home last weekend. I swear you need a vacation from your vacation. Anyway, Heath drove the twins and I out and flew home to work. 2 weeks later he flew back out to spend a week with us and then we headed home the last weekend of February. You never get use to that 2 day drive in the car, especially with toddlers who have to pee every 20 minutes. So on our trip we did a lot, saw a lot and played a lot. Here are the highlights.

And so the drive begins.

All the grandkids love gma & gpa Wilder's tiny trampoline.

The tree tire swing has been a hit for over 35 years now.

It was a long drive out. Daddy and buddy apparently had the same thing in mind, and the same sleeping position.

My precious grandma Arlene!

Sweet cousin Hadley, getting a smooch from great grandpa Cecil.

Grayson watchin a little tv.

Grandma & Grandpa Wilder - together for over 55 years.

Lauren and cousin Hadley. Too cute!

The family room is the hub of all the action. Grayson & Lauren play with cousins Hadley & Gavin.

Jozie, Zara, Jada & Lauren

Lauren & Grayson's 3rd cousins who are also twins 1 year older.
Derick, Lauren Dore', Drew Dore' & Grayson

Grandpa takes about 6 cap naps throughout the day. The grandkids are unfazed. He just had a really good belly to lay on.

We love our Uncle Mejo.

Is that so??

My beautiful Lauren.

Seeing daddy for the first time after 2 weeks.

Lauren showing off her new "toddler teddy" (aka - a silky tank top of grandma Marlene's tied in the back.) She slept in this most nights.

My dad and brother.

Grayson loved hanging out with grandpa Devin.

The twins loved playing with their new friend Simon.

Just pondering the Mickey Mouse show on the big screen while I wait for my ice cream.

Heath & the twins with Steen (our dear friend and Simon's owner) at a great indoor buffet and arcade. The twins had a BLAST! Thanks Steen.

Neither of them never actually got the ball even over the ramp. But they had fun trying!

Nice wrist action Grayson. (He did actually make one of these shots.)

She shoots....and she misses.

And we're back at the swings! The kids would have rode it until the sun went down if they could have.

Saying goodbye. This is always the hard part.

It was probably one of the longest drives home we have ever had. I thought by putting the kids potty chair in the back of the van would simplify the toilet trips (which it did to some extent) and of course prevent me from having my OCD kick in because I refuse to take my children into the rest stop bathrooms. Much cleaner and quicker for twins for sure. Although, what we didn't bank on was the number of stops we would have to make. I think we visited every underpass along I-80. We even had a state tropper checkin up on us during our drive out to CA. It was so cold on our way home that Grayson insisted I shut the entire back hatch on him while he did this thing. Hysterical. I know the kids will kill me one day for these pics but I could care less. This is total blackmail!!!!
