Is January almost gone?

Where does the time go? It seems like we were just ringing in the new year yesterday and now we are almost into February. Things have been going well for us. Heath is doing good with the new job and plugging away learning new things all the time. It has been a great transition for our family as he is able to work from home quite a bit as needed. He usually goes into the Ft. Collins office or has appointments that will take him to Denver, but for the most part his schedule is pretty flexible which is grrrreat!!!

We had a fun week! The litte day care girl I watch has a new schedule with me so she is actually her just a few hours on Tues and Thurs and then all day on Fridays. The twins LOVE her. Her name is Erica and she is about 2 months younger than them. For those days each week I get a glimpse of what it would be like have triplets!! SCARY!!! I guess you would just find a way, but after what we have been going through with Grayson, I would have had to prayed for another Lauren had that been the cards we were dealt! But it's true though right....the Lord doesn't give you more than you can handle! So when Erica comes over I pretty much give up on the play room for a couple of days because between the three of them and then the girls half the week, it's a lost cause. I walked into the playroom closet the other day to find Grayson laying in a doll's crib drinking his sippy cup. Hysterical! This couldn't have been comfortable!

This must have been a busy day in these little kiddo's heads because it was one thing after another. Both Lauren and Grayson decided that they would continue to believe they were dolls and sit in the doll strollers. That was until they got stuck and Lauren fell over in hers.

The next day Grayson decided he wasn't going to wear any clothes ALL day. You pick and choose your battles. This is one I wasn't willing to fight. As long as his diaper is securely fastened by duck tape - he can knock him self out! He has taken a liking to his sisters purse though? Should I be worried? :) Here is also a few pics of Grayson trying to dress himself! He hasn't quite mastered the two leg holes......mermaid anyone? Never a dull moment!

So Darrian started playing basketball a couple of weeks ago. She is on a 2nd grade team and their first game was this past Saturday. I am here to tell you that if you are ever feeling down, had a bad day or just flat out want to lift your spirits.......go to a little girls basketball game! It is by far one of the funniest and cutest things you will ever do! Bless these girls hearts but some of them just don't have a clue. This was Darrian's very first game ever. We are so proud of her. Another little girl on her team decided she was just going to go down the court the wrong direction and when it comes to blocking....yeah well I think they are all out there comparing nail polish colors instead. Hysterical! Final score......27 to 3! (Darrian's team was the 3!) I took several pics of our little girl in action but my camera just doesn't do far away shots very well at all! So all you pretty much see is all black with a spec of white across the screen. In the mean time here she is in her jersey and posing w/proud daddy.

After the game we went to Sam's Club. We bought one of those plastic desk chair mats and of course......."little big man" had to bring the fetchin thing to the cart alllllll by himself! And even after he did it once, he had to do it again - so Heath had to take the other one back when he wasn't looking. This thing wasn't exactly light either. Everyone around us was getting a kick out of how headstrong he was. He seriously had to put everything we bought in our cart as we went along. (And yes I had my camera in Sam's - in my purse - because we had just left he game).

So to wrap up our already eventful weekend, we decided to take the twins to get their first haircuts! And hair cut was right......she literally cut just a few hairs from Lauren's head. Soooooooo a waste of money! But Grayson did need a major overall as his hair was out of control! Either way, it was fun and I'm glad we did it! Now I can just cut their hair from home! (ha) We took them to a place called LoliLocs which as you can see from the pics is catered towards kids. They give you a keep sake certificate with a pouch full of their first cut hair and take a pic of them. It's really cute. We were really worried with how they were going to do and if Grayson would sit through the experience. Well they shocked us both!!! Talk about a great time....they did awesome! We of course let Lauren go first and she did wonderful......after Buddy saw she was having so much fun driving this character car and eating her sucker, he wanted in on the action. Still not sure where the hair dresser was going with Lauren's actual hair style but whatever. Here are a couple pics from the event.....and of course you can find the other thousand pics on Snapfish.

Just A Quick Note about Snapfish

So as you can see on the side bar there is a link that says "Morby Family Photos". This link takes you to the Snapfish website - specifically to a group room I created just for our family photos. Well my friend brought to my attention that when you click this link it wasn't taking some people to the appropriate page to view our pics. I have corrected this but during the process noticed that it jumbled all of our photo albums and now they are in no particular order. So when you log on and are in our Morby Family Photos group room.......scroll to the bottom and select the button that says "view all". This will bring up all the albums -and then you can see the most recent ones I have posted. It's kind of irritating though because normally you can sort your albums by date and keep them chronological for easy viewing, but when you create a group room, I guess that changes a few things. Oh well. Hope your at least able to view the pictures period I guess. Take care!

Terrible Two's

Well it's been another crazy week but we'll just call it what it is..........all about Grayson! He has officially decided that he is going to become the poster child for the terrible two's! It is his way or no way! Our biggest obstacle right now is getting him to keep his clothes on! First the clothes, then the diaper! Here is a recent pic of what we have resorted to just to keep his diaper on. His other favorite thing to do at the moment is scream, in fact Lauren has started to get in on that action also. We are so over it!

The week started out rather well. Last Monday my friend Eliza and I (she has twins also that are 3), decided to load up and head down to our Colorado Mills Outlet Mall and take part in our bi-annual Children's Place "monster sale". We like to think of ourselves as VIP shoppers there - since we have spent so much they have given us a permanent sticker that entitles us to additional % off our purchases, along with coupons and of course their great additional 50% sale. When it's all said and done the price we pay for our kids clothes is just wrong.....like $2.00 for really nice shirts, pants, skirts, etc. We were also able to hit the additional 50% Old Navy sale last weekend also. I can't ever pass up a deal. It's so great and I get most of the kids clothes for the following year. Our best sale to date at the Children's Place was when they were having an additional off $1.99 and with our coupons......we ended up paying $1.18 an item! So out of control!

Later that day I wasn't feeling very well and just felt like poo the rest of the day. By the next morning I couldn't even walk and felt like a train had just ran across my back! It was horrible. I had to tough it out as my day care girl was here and Grayon's speech therapist. I had Heath take me to the chiropractor and felt a thousand times better afterwards. I got the second degree for the amount of caffeine I was consuming and was told that I probably am having problems with my Adrenal Gland - and drinking large amounts of soda, sugar, etc. is really bad for this as it controls your stress levels and can cause a lot of side effects. I have never had an adjustment like that before. He started me on an herbal supplement that apparently promotes better adrenal gland function, but I had to promise to cut out my soda and cut back on my sugar intake. I haven't had a soda since last Tues and honestly have never felt better. I still have a kink in my neck but can see a huge improvement in just the last several days.

Friday morning a few of my girlfriends and I got together at Michelle's house and made freezer meals! Whoo hoooo! Exciting huh? Ok but really it is. Michelle turned me on to this concept and I am hooked. I may be Martha Stewart of the house but it stopped at the kitchen. I hate cooking and my family suffers the effects from that. Anyway, Michelle is awesome in the kitchen and volunteered to come up with all the recipes, do allllllll the shopping and even host. So last Friday we took over her kitchen and made 14 meals (that are all fully cooked) and then placed them in freezer bags, labeled with prep instructions. You basically just thaw it, and either prepare by stove top or in the oven. It's great! For the 4 of us, her shopping bill was around $380. That broke down to around $93 a person and ruffly $6.50 per meal. How in the world could you ever prepare an entire meal for you family for $6.50? Of course you would add a side salad, bread, etc. But it's awesome, because I don't have to think about what we are going to have for dinner, I just go to the freezer and pull something out! And it's good food because it's all from scratch! Anyway, it was a great experience and I am looking forward to doing it again!

The weekend went by in the blink of an eye! We did take all the kids out Sat night with Eliza's family to a local place here called Bounce. I have posted pics from the night on the Snapfish website. I really wasn't' sure how the twins were going to do, but sure enough they had a blast - although they had no concept of what it means to wait in line and of course we couldn't get through the rest of the evening without at least a handful of temper tantrums from Grayson! Afterwards we all went out to dinner to a new place called Costa Vida - it was great! The girls had a friend sleep over and I think I was passed out by 9:30!!! Here is a pic of Grayson, Lauren, Cody and Alexandra. Be sure to check out the Snapfish link because there are some hysterical ones.

We went to church today to our old building. A couple of weeks ago they realigned our ward boundaries and we were sent back to the building we were originally going to when we moved here 3 years ago. Honestly the building is pretty old, but it's also only 2 minutes down the street from our house! Much nicer that the 15 min one way trip to the Stake Cetner we had previously been making. Anyway, I am only even saying this because only with our change in building came a landmark occasion for Grayson.......he went to Nursery for the FIRST TIME by himself. Lauren has been going since she turned 18 months. Now at 28 months, Grayson has finally decided he can leave his father's side and hang out with his own kind for 2 hours! It was great!!!!! He is talking sooooo much better and really improving in his communication ability. Maybe we have this to thank for his recent defiant phase. ughhhhh

Well that's sounds like it for now. I will leave ya with a couple more cute pics of G & L that I snapped this week. Lauren LOVES her new jeans and boots, and Grayson has recently figured out how to open the fridge! Oh what joy. I walked into the leaving room the other day to see an entire dozen of eggs lined up on my couch!!!! Now that could have been ugly!!

Got Busy?

Well it's been a crazy past couple of weeks, and I am glad it's over! As you can see I have had to give my blog a face lift and have added several features to it. On the side bar I created a video slide show of some recent pics that I just think are the cutest things ever!!! Also, I'm sure by now you have heard my sweet tunes playing. :) If your like me though and can't walk and chew gum at the same time, or in this case - read and listen to music - then all you have to do is scroll down where you will see the media window for my music and click the pause button. Or if you want to check out my play list, then you can change the song also. Another feature I added is a subscription option......you're not really subscribing to anything other than my blog updates. So scroll down on the right side of the blog again, and you will see a white box that says to enter your email address for updates. When you do this, each time I update our blog, you will be sent email notification. Cool huh!

ANDDDD.......on to the best part yet.............at the very bottom of the blog you will see a window with four hotties in it, ok I mean me and my girlfriends. :) This is the song we (Eliza, Aislinn, Michelle and myself) sang to Heath for his 40th Birthday Party on Dec. 1st. My girlfriend Michelle was kind enough to open her beautiful new and very large home to us for this momentous event. The songs we sang to were the Friends theme, Fireman by George Straight and the YMCA. I re-wrote the lyrics, we practiced for weeks, and the end result is what you see. We did have it perfect the day before after our 1,000th run through and of course, totally screwed up right off the bat. Oh well, it was still a riot. Hope you can understand the us. Remember though you will need to pause the music from my songs playlist so that you can hear the video when you press play. You may need to turn up the volume. Enjoy!!

Well Heath left for Atlanta for training on Sat the 5th and that left me flyin solo with the kids all last week! That was a first! I know it is really not thaaaaat big of a deal, but it was our FIRST time apart since we were married. Really, it was. I would be lying if I said I didn't appreciate my husband a million times more now! The kids missed him dearly and the girls and I had to have a slumber party in my bed every night just so we wouldn't get lonely! I was a little on edge the middle of last week as I thought I was going to have to serve jury duty on top of everything else, but someone was on my side as they dismissed our entire jury selection before we even had to show up! It was a loooooong week and we missed daddy so much! When Heath did come home this past Sat night the twins were SO excited! Grayson's little face just lit up and he pointed up the stairs and then just took off! Lauren just yelled DADDY DADDY the entire time. Of course I captured it on video. They melted my heart. I only wish the girls could have been here to. Let me just say that I have a new found appreciation for those wives that have husbands who travel on a regular basis for their job!!! NO WAY!

On another note....Grayson is making improvements with his speech by leaps and bounds! In just the last couple of weeks he has incorporated "mamma, dadda, DON'T, light, sissy and okay" into his vocabulary. It is adorable!!! He just loves his speech therapist, who comes to our home every Tues morning. He takes her straight into the play room and then tells me to "go" - very loudly. We call her his girlfriend. He gets really upset when she has to leave. And of course there isn't anything Lauren won't say. Grayson's therapist is trying to teach him simple sign language and guess who has picked up on it already......Lauren comes to us with both hands together when she wants a book, or puts her little fingers together making the "more" sign. It is precious!

We also decided to attempt the big move to the potty chair this past week. The kids love it but haven't quite grasped the concept of what it's there for. They know to sit on it, flush it, put toilet paper in it, but yet they have never "used it". The chair is hysterical! It plays music, has a fake flusher and fake toilet paper dispenser. Of course I took pics of initial attempt, which you can find in our Snapfish photo album (click the link to the right that says Morby Family Photos). The only thing I am struggling with right now is trying to keep clothes on Grayson. He is going through a naked fase and it's getting old! He wants to be naked ALL the time! And I mean ALL the time. It is a fight to get a diaper on him, let alone clothes. I have given in so many times because I will dress him and 5 seconds later he has taken everything off. Oh well, this to shall pass....I hope.

By the way, even though these pics (below) are in the slideshow, I had to give them there own space in the blog. My sister-in-law took the one of Grayson and I just think it's one of the most precious pics of him ever taken. You would never know he was sitting on his dad's lap at Red Robin eating ice cream. And as for Lauren, I had just fnished making Grayson's new blankie (she is sitting under her new one) and when I said smile for the camera, this is what I got. They just love their new "gankies".

Well that sounds like a pretty good update of what has been going on in our household for a while. Hope all is going well for you all! Untill the next post.............have a great week!

Happy New Year - 2008 is here!

Hello everyone,

Well as you can see I have finally decided to join the world of bloggers! I have contemplated doing this for a while now, but thought of every reason why I shouldn’t. However, after learning more about how easy the process actually is, well that and so many of my friends have these things, thought why not. It’s an extremely easy way to stay in touch with family and friends and let those that are far from us know how we are doing on a more regular basis. I probably won’t post as often as some do on these blogs, although I do take pictures more than anyone I know and love showing my kids off, so this will be a great way to share fun stories and experiences as they occur. So add this web address to your list of websites and you can check back for updates.
http://themorbizzles.blogspot.com/
I will also eventually be adding a feature that allows you to sign up your e-mail address so that when I do update our blog you will be automtically notified.

You will also notice a list of Links on the side of this page. These are links to sites that you may be interested in. As most of you know I usually send out picture updates through an online photo sharing website called Snapfish. I have uploaded our holiday pictures to Snapfish and created a group for our family pictures. The website for this group is http://themorbizzles.snapfish.com/snapfish, however you can access it directly by clicking on the link to the left called "Morby Family Photos". Another link you will see is for the LDS Family Services Website. You can also access it directly by going to http://www.itsaboutlove.org/. If you would like to view our online aoption profile, select the link, click on "search adoption profiles" and type in our user name "heathandalyssa".

A good friend of mine, Eliza Brock, was diagnosed with breast cancer in Sept. 2006 and subsequently has gone through 6 months of chemo, 6 weeks of daily radiation and just completed her 2nd masectomy. She is a true survivior. She to is a mother of twins and has three kids. You can follow her story by visiting her blog in the Link area to. And of course there is good ol' John Turner. Or my Mejo as he is commonly referred to. If your ever in need of a good laugh or just want to see how busy one single white boy from Sacramento can be, check out his blog listing.

Well with that said, I will wrap this posting up! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. Take care and hope hope you enjoy our blog! (heathandalyssa@comast.net)
