Poem

I found this poem on the Heart to Heart website where we found our sweet Macy. Had to pass along. The love we have for her is beyond anything that we thought we could comprehend. It's as if I gave birth to her myself. She is my daughter!

LEGACY OF AN ADOPTED CHILD

Once there were two women, who never knew each other
One you do not remember, the other you call mother.
Two different lives shaped to make your one.
One became your guiding star, the other became your sun.
The first gave you life, and the second taught you to live in it.
The first gave you a need for love, and the second was there to give it.
One gave you a nationality, the other gave you a name.
One gave you the seed of talent, the other gave you an aim.
One gave you emotions, the other calmed your fears.
One saw your first sweet smile, the other dried your tears.
One gave you up - it was all that she could do.
The other prayed for a child, and God led her straight to you.
And now you ask me through your tears, the age old questions through the years;
Heredity or Environment - which are you the product of;
Neither my darling - neither - just two different kinds of love.

It's been a long time

I cant' believe how long it's been since I have posted anything. I have honestly had no energy to blog. While I have been meaning to forever now, it seems like when I think about it, something always comes up that takes more priority.

We have had a busy couple of months. Went to CA the end of March, which I will eventually post pics of - had a blast, we have had tons of illness - never ending story of this family - and of course sweet Macy. Today she is 4 months old! Where does the time go. She has been growing so fast and keeping us super busy. We love her more than words can even express. She has added so much to this family in ways I could have never even imagined.

The twins are good, always sick but good. The girls are staying busy and Braxton is in full swing with her fast pitch softball league. She is wrapping up track at school and of course all the kids are counting down the days till the end of school next month.

Heath and I remain more than in love and I just look at him everyday saying, yeah that's my man! He is so hot and I am so lucky!

I will post again soon - until then hope everyone is well and we'll chat soon!

I just suck

So I reallllly can't believe how long it's been since I really took the time to post an actual message or update on here. Things have been so busy and we have been super crazy going every which direction. I feel like I have this weight on my shoulders because I haven't really updated my blog in normal Alyssa fashion in quite some time. So tonight I sit with no excuse and nothing super pressing to get done. So here is be a brief update, but good enough for me, on my trip to Sacramento. As usual I take way to many pics, so here is a glimpse at what we did. I will have more posts in the next day or so to cover the last few months as well.

In March I decided to fly to Sacramento with the twins and Macy and surprise my family and friends. No one knew we were coming, well except John of course - we did need a ride of the airport! :) We had a couple free tickets on Delta, buuuut the only problem with that, was the connection it required in SLC. As great as it was to travel free, we will only do direct flights in the future. It was great to see the faces of my grandparents when we rolled into the various locations. Grandma Marlene's facial express was priceless as we interrupted her old lady card game and then popped over to the shop to see my Grandparents and dad - of whom I am just spoke to on the phone and thought I was in CO running errands. Oh how lying can be so much fun!

Overall the trip was a success and the entire process went very well. And I must say for being by myself with the twins, a newborn and a layover....I was pretty dang proud of us all.

Here are some pics from our trip to Sac. Oh how I miss my friends and family.

Lauren loves her sister

I think I have created a monster. :) Lauren LOVES to pose for the camera. Her new obsession though....Macy!

Oh yea, and it doesn't get any cuter than this. Grayson has finally taken to wearing caps. A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E if I do say so myself. My little buddy is growing up.

Macy Macy Macy

Macy turned 8 weeks on this past Sunday. Life has been AWESOME! She has grown sooooo much. It's so amazing how in such a short amount of time she has filled out and started really showing her personality. She smiles so much more and it more attentive and awake. Macy has been such a blessing to our family. Here are a few snap shots from the last couple of weeks. Of course I can't ever just choose one pic to post, so I have to put several. Here is my favorite newborn dress that she received at her shower. Our chocolate princess is all dressed up and ready to go to church!

Crafty

I recently made this blanket for a friends baby shower and loved the fabric sooooo much, had it also made into a smaller diaper bag for her. I wasn't sure what they were going to be naming their baby so had "Baby Mama" embroidered instead. I think it came out ADORABLE if I do say so myself.

My cousin Amy posted on her blog (which you can check out here ) some adorable ties she had made for her son. I loved them so much I asked her to make me some to. I sent her the fabric and she kindly made Grayson 4 CUTE CUTE CUTE ties of which he has already worn one to church. He looked stunning. I wish I was more talented in the sewing department. I can do the basics but that's about it. Loooooove these ties Amy, thank you so much!

My sick little guy

Monday we found out Grayson has pneumonia. He had been sick for a few days with a fever but that was about it. Sunday he started coughing up a storm and it really took over his entire body. Throwing up all the time from coughing so hard and and in tons of pain from just not feeling well. I am so glad I took him in on Monday and got this under control. He is on antibiotics for 5 days that will stay in his system for 10 and is having nebulizer treatments for a week. He is such a good little boy even when he's sick. Here he is multi tasking on the couch while having a treatment.
