Happy Birthday to me - yep I'm 33!!

Yes today is my 33rd birthday, July 31, 1975! What the mother! Where does the time go? Wasn't I just taking my driving test with Grandpa in Davis, CA the other day in my black Chevy "Eurosport" Celebrity! Yea I said Celebrity! Hey that auto reverse Delco tape deck played MC Hammer awesome and had some great speakers to boot!

So we are in Salt Lake City, Utah and it's about 8am. The family is upstairs asleep in our Family Suite - the Morby's are steppin up ya know.....and I am in the lobby checking our email. Heath's cousin is getting married tomorrow (Fri. 8/1/08) in the Bountiful Temple, and he really wanted to be here to support him. Originally Heath was going to just drive here on Fri and head back on Sat for an easy quick trip. Well since we do nothing easy, we decided to make it a family affair. We really haven't done any family trips this summer anyway, so figured it would be a nice get away before the school year starts.

We drove over yesterday afternoon (Wed) and since today is my birfday - heeyyyy - the most wonderful husband on earth told me I could do anything I wanted today - (actually he said, it would be just like any other day, but whatever) :) Anywhoo, so today we are going shopping!!!! Suprise suprise! First we will go to Layton to visit a store called RodWorks and then off to Odgen to the best store on earth (next to Ikea that is) called the Quilted Bear. (Check it out www.quiltedbear.com) It's a crafters heaven. Once we finished up there, and anywhere else my little heart desires....we are off to North Odgen - Plain City, to visit the most incredible family - The Scotts. They were a family in our ward back in Loveland that moved here about a year ago so that Andrew could take a job for the church. Denise just gave birth to their 8th child - yes I said 8th! She was my Activity Day companion at church and her two oldest daughters were the twins first babysitters. I aspire to be like this woman! They are in incredible family!!!!!!! So we are going to see them this evening and I am SO EXCITED! I just love Denise and her family. We miss them in Loveland dearly.

As a side note, the drive over was pretty good actually. We always get worried that long cars rides will send the kids (well the twins - the girls do great) into tantrum mode! Well they did great to. (Thank you DVD players). Anyway, Lauren is quite the talker now and was very vocal the ENTIRE way here....very excited to be with her big sisters and I quote ("I love my my sissy's and I love my fracky" - fracky = Braxton). About 15 from SLC she said, "mommy I want to go home".... I said we are going to the hotel honey - she said "yea da hopel". Once we walked into the room, she took a big gasp and said "oh mommy, this is beautiful - I love it!" How stinkin cute is that!!!!

Looking forward to a great day and a wonderful birthday with my family. Now I just have to go wake them up, a mothers job is never done (isn't this my day?) ha

Peace out!

New Toys

So a couple of weeks ago I bought Lauren this little Barbie quad off of Craigs List. It's actually almost too small for her, but I figured I would get it anyway and see how they do with it. Of course they loved it and new that Grayson wasn't going to be content sharing anything with his sister so we were able to get him a truck. Our Toys R Us is moving and marking down their inventory so we were able to get this little truck for him. It is hysterical. Laurens quad uses a button by the handle but his actually has a pedal and can go forward or backward by using a switch. It took some time to figure out but they both got the hang of it pretty well.
Here is yet another wonderful outfit by Grayson pulled together all by himself. He is also sporting his new camo backpack we just bought him for preschool. Quite the little man.
Sissy was worn out from all her riding.

I'm getting lazy at this.....

So it's been a couple weeks since my last post. Guess I am just getting lazy but I figure if I get a least a couple posts a month on here I'm doing good. It's been a busy few weeks. As I mentioned in my previous post, my gma Marlene was here for 3 weeks from Virginia. The day she went home my inlaws came out for a week. It's always nice to have family around especially when you don't get to see them very often.
A black tie affair anyone? So my son is going through a phase (I sure hope it's a phase) where he insists on picking out his own clothes everyday. He wants to look just like his dad. He wears a long sleeve dress shirt (never mind it's been in the 90's for 3 weeks), accompanied by his one and only black clip on tie. He then says "my daddy shirt my daddy shirt" and points to the shirt he is wearing. He would prefer to wear pants and dress shoes, but we at least are able to halt that one most of the time with a pair of shorts so he doesn't die of heat exhaustion. Here are a couple pics of his new "look"....it has gotten funnier with time, and most recently he wore a very bright orange and blue stripped dress shirt with his black tie and camo colored shorts. Good times.
This outfit by far took the cake for me. We were getting ready to go run errands and this is what he came out in. Grayson had Lauren's purse, a winter beenie hat and flip flops, while Lauren was trying to decide if she wanted to be J Lo with her jumper or Olivia Newton John and get physical with her head band!!! Love it!
What??? I'm just wearing my momma's glasses and listening to her iPod with my sexy shirt wide open!!!

So we hadn't decided to get Grayson's hair cut, but it was obvious that his hair was getting out of control. We hadn't cut it since his first official hair cut several months ago, and it's was getting really long and stringy in the back. My gma had an appt for her hair to get cut from my hair lady so while we were there (not thinking he would go for this) asked if he wanted a hair cut to. He jumped right up on gma's lap and was great the entire time. I can't believe how much it changed his entire face. He was so good. Sissy of course wanted hers cut (which we are not doing at this time - we want to let it grow) so we faked a few snips here and there and she was happy. Here are some pics of them in the chair on gmas lap and then posing with daddy at his office. All day they both kept rubbing their head saying "wook at my hair wook at my hair". Adorable!

One of the days while gma was here we went to the pool and the park. Here are some pics at the pool and some of them I couldn't resist posting from the swing. Lauren is such a ham!!!

We have been making more of an effort to try and get the kids potty trained. We have been successfull in many attempts but the novelty of it wears off fast and then we end up right back in a diaper. Grayson FINALLY let us put him in his big boy pants and even posed for a photo op. With his new hair cut and new undies, it looks like he just aged a couple years right before my eyes!!!! :( He was very proud of his boxer briefs!

Ughhh.....where do I begin?

So I haven't updated a post in what seems like forever. Things have been extremely active in the Morby household. We'll start with a couple of weeks ago, the girls had a week long Enrichment in the Valley activity that they went to everyday for three hours. They really enjoyed it. Darrian learned about Dr. Seuss and Braxton took a class on pirates. Here are a couple cute pics of them from their last day.

Later that night we went to a grand opening that our real estate agent invited us to - showcasing a new neighborhood of very expensive patio homes on a golf course. Of course being the curious investors we are (hee hee) decided to take him up on his offer and have a free dinner, listen to music and entertain the kids for an evening. Here are a couple pics of Heath helping the kids golf and the girls trying cast fishing lines into hoola hoops. Good times.

So later that evening we decided to hit up Dairy Queen for a little ice cream action, and this is where I captured my new favorite photo of my family. Does it get any cuter than this!!?!?!? I'm going to make this a black and white and blow it up and frame it for my wall.

So the next day Grandma Marlene flew in from VA for a visit. We picked her up and then spent the evening hanging in the garage. This has become our hang out location so that the kids can ride bikes and play and I can stay shaded. Lauren got a new dress and was excited to show it off for the camera. I just love how she poses so well. Grayson was pooped and didn't care too much for clothes period.

For the 4th of July we went to some friends house for a bbq and to watch the fireworks. They set off the city's firework show in the field of our High School which is right across the street from their home. It was very nice to have great parking and a front row seat to a great fireworks show. As you can see Grayson was not a fan of the fireworks until towards the end. Here are some pics from the evening.

Just another weekend

Nothing too exciting to report from this past weekend. We enjoyed a more relaxing one I guess you could say. After daddy did yard work Saturday morning we headed to the pool. Here is a few pics of Lauren modeling one of her new swim suits. I had bought her two new ones at Target earlier this summer, which she has worn.......then I saw this one last weekend at a yard sale and couldn't pass it up for a dollar. I had to include two of the same pose because her eyes were so stinking cute!

Here is the crew heading off to the pool.

Later that afternoon while daddy and the girls were at a baptism, the twins wanted to watch Barbie (the latest move obsession of our home). Here is a pic of them in their plethora of blankets and pillows with their ring pops.

Our weather here has been really nice, so I decided to put Lauren in a cute white summer dress that I had picked up a while back at Old Navy on one of their big sales. She had her new little silver "feep fops" and of course wouldn't think of leaving the house w/o her purse. I have no idea why she loves the camera so much! :)

Lot's goin' on!

So last weekend was our annual neighborhood garage sale. We look forward to this every year so that I can force myself to do some serious deep cleaning around the house. The girls wanted to do a lemonade stand and book sale this year so they could make a little revenue themselves. Here is a pic of them at work.

The next day Heath decided to make a platform for the 200 gallon water tank that we just bought for water storage. Here are the twins helping daddy with his Saturday project.

Later that day we took the twins to the pool for the first time this summer. The weather here has been beautiful and in the 80's for several days straight. I just bought them new life jackets for when we go to the lake this summer, so we decided to try them out at the pool. They absolutely loved it. The water was perfect and they enjoyed floating around in the tubes as well. Here are some cute pics from our day at the pool.

Sunday was just like any other except I did cook breakfast. Heath leaves for meetings every Sun morning at 8am and gets home around 10:45 only to have another meeting here at 11:15 until noon. He canceled his home meeting since it was father's day and we were able to have a nice breakfast before church. When we got home we went swimming and for some reason the sun decided to stay behind the clouds making it feel much cooler than it was. After the kids lips turned purple, we called it a day and decided to come home and give daddy his father's day present. He wasn't expecting it and was very excited when he saw his new power washer.

So this morning (Monday) I went into wake up Grayson and found him once again under his fitted sheet. I will never understand this! I can't remember if I published this post a few weeks ago or not when he did this the first time, but in the even I didn't - here is a pic from the first time I found him asleep in this position.

Normally we have a mattress pad on his bed, but he pee'd through his sheets the other day and once again they were in the wash so we had to put the back up sheet on. This seems to be the only time he crawls under the fitted sheet. How this is even comfortable I will never know. Here he is this morning. It's harder to see under the blue sheet from the other pic, but he is there.
